Wednesday Competition

26/02/14:  North Adelaide

It's difficult to imagine a more perfect day for golf - about 22C & sunny, with a faint breeze, perfect fairways and a newly cut rough.   Even harder to imagine how 3 experienced golfers could stuff up such a perfect day so comprehensively.     (Captn Kev O/S & Pring injured).

Some outstanding individual shots, some very good holes, even short periods of excellent golf  - but in the end, three crap scores (ranging between 27 and 30 - enough said !!)

Birdie:
Greg on the par 4 fourth - finally managed to avoid the ball-eating gum tree next to the bunker.

Wednesday Competition

19/02/14:  North Adelaide

A wonderful, cool 21 C (after weeks of hot weather), with a moderate breeze.
The fairways have responded well to the heavy rain last week, with some of the rough quite long.      Only four starters, with Captn Kev about to head O/S again.

As expected, Don & Greg defeated Peter & Damien fairly comfortably - Don preferred "destroyed".

Front nine:      Greg (18) from Don & Damien (16)
Back nine:      Greg (18) from Don (14)
Overall:           Greg (36) from Don (30)

Highlights:
Greg:     birdie on par 5 seventh
Don:      remarkable approach to elevated eighth green from long grass, blocked by trees.

Wednesday Competition

05/02/14:  North Adelaide

Great day for golf, although felt warmer than 34C when the slight breeze died down.
Only 4 starters, with Bronte and Paul back at work, and Damien resting.   Pretty ordinary scores given the conditions, except for Captn Kev.

Front nine:   Kevin (19), daylight second and third
Back nine:  Greg and Peter (18) from Kevin (16)
Overall:        Kevin (35), Peter & Greg (30)
Team score:  As expected, Peter & Greg proved too good for Kevin & Don.  Two up on back nine after a squared front nine.

Birdies:   Peter on par 4 eleventh  

Next week:  Forecast 42 C -  will cancel if forecast conditions prevail
