Wednesday Competition

18/06/14:  North Adelaide

Seven starters on the perfect winter's day - 17C, calm and sunny.   The Course was damp and the tees were as far back as you can go.

Phil Methofer showed us all how to play golf !!.   Gorilla drives and consistent iron play - fortunately he's going away on holiday soon.

Front nine:      Phil (17) from Bronte & Peter (16)
Back nine:      Phil and Don (17) from Greg (16), Damien & Kev (15)
Overall:           Phil (34) from Don (32) and Greg (30)

Birdies:   Greg - par 5 seventh and par 3 twelfth.

Lake Albert

Saturday: 14/06/14  Lake Albert, Meningie

A good day for golf - overcast, with a mild breeze and course in good condition.    Eleven starters enjoyed the golf , the intellectual stimulation of an overnight stay in the Meningie Caravan Park, and Bronte's cooked breakfast on the foreshore of Lake Albert.

The golf scores were generally reasonable, with the winnings shared between Milde, Pring and White (all on 33 points).  Captn Kev was not disgraced by his 31 points, but was by his outfit (a clear winner of Wellman award).

Kevin also snuck in for a win over Nick Meiers in the EET Singles Competition

Nearest the pin:   Ross
Long drive:           Greg
Birdies:                 Greg (par 4 first)

Wednesday Competition

11/06/14:  North Adelaide

Good day for winter golf - 17C, overcast and calm.

Six starters, lousy scores and the old fox took the money again.

Front nine:      Damien (18) - thirteen points after first five holes, then protected his handicap
Back nine:      Peter (15)
Overall:           Damien (31)

Nothing to brag about, but Damien's par 5 on the second hole is worth a mention - tough hole.

Wednesday Competition

28/05/14:  North Adelaide

7 starters, with special appearances by Craig Burrett and Dave Oreo.
One five minute downpour on about the 4th or 5th hole, with the rest of the round clear as a bell - cool but a little muggy!    Once again, pretty ordinary scores all round.

Front nine:    Craig, Dave and Don shared with 15 points

Back nine:     Kev and Craig shared with 14 points

Overall:          Craig with 29 points– no-one made any real money like Damien can!

Special mention to Craig for a birdie on the par three 12th.  Nothing else worth mentioning except for Oreo  –  14 points after the first five holes, 15 points after the first 9 holes  - apparently the Meister dragged him back down to his level pretty quickly!

04/06/14:  North Adelaide

Only 5 starters, including two (Bronte and Don) who played through the pain barrier.   About 18C, overcast and virtually calm.   Course played very long (tees far back and fairways without run).   A couple of decent scores, certainly an improvement on recent weeks.

Front nine:   Don, Bronte and Peter all on 16 points
Back nine:   Peter (19) from Greg (18) and Don (17)
Overall:        Peter (35) from Don (33)

Next Week:       Remember the early tee time - 10.30 am
