Another perfect day - warm and sunny, with a faint breeze.
Only six starters, with Don still out of action, and Phil Methofer back at work (temporarily).
Front nine: Bronte (17 points) from Damien (15)
Back nine: Peter (21) from Brian (18) & Greg (17)
Overall: Pring (35) from Milde (32)
Highlights:
Pring birdied the toughest hole on the course (par 4,17th). Drove around the corner and hit his second to just over a metre . Don't see a birdie on the seventeenth too often.
Brian Beggs' drives on the fourteenth, and several others, cast doubts on his real handicap. Clearly one of the favourites for the Mildura weekend competition.

Wednesday Competition
22/10/14: North Adelaide
A surprisingly warm day (32C), sunny with a faint breeze.
Nine starters, with a guest appearance by Eric Kelly. Don still out of action, but improving steadily (maybe next week). Scores were pretty ordinary, perhaps due to the hot conditions (or LOFT).
Front nine: Stephen (17) from Bob & Phil (16), Peter & Bronte (15)
Back nine: Damien & Greg (17), from Bronte, Eric & Bob 15)
Overall: Damien (31) from Stephen & Bronte (30)
Highlights:
Stephen: Tee shot on par 3 twelfth to 8 inches (measured accurately) - 2 for 4

Wednesday Competition

Another perfect Spring day - 17 C, sunny, with a faint breeze.
Eight starters, with Don caddying while he recovers from his eye op. Sleeping Beauty (Damien) missed a couple of early holes. Fairly ordinary scores despite the excellent conditions.
Front nine: Pring (18) from Methofer & Whicker (17)
Back nine: Whicker (17) from Mensforth (15)
Overall: Whicker (34) from Methofer (31) and Pring (30)

Phil: 2 for 5 on the par 3 sixteenth (surely some law prevents this !!!)
Greg: 4 on the par 5 seventh

Yet another perfect Wednesday for golf - 21C & sunny with a gentle breeze.
Eight starters, with Don sidelined again after a recurrence of his eye problem. Bob Batty, Stephen Gordge and Brian Beggs added a touch of class.
Despite the excellent conditions, the scores were pretty ordinary, except for the Meister.
Front nine: Peter (19)
Back nine: Greg (17) from Phil & Bronte (16)
Overall: Peter (34)
Birdies: A Milde pitch (~50 m) holed out yet again - this time on the par 4 eighteenth.
Methofer/Milde ended the Mensforth/Whicker winning partnership once and for all, despite a sluggish start.

Wednesday Competition
01/10/14: North Adelaide
Absolutely perfect Spring day, with course in pretty good condition.
Seven starters, with new starters Brian Beggs and Stephen Gordge, and Phil Methofer back from his Northern Australia holiday. These three clearly raised the standard, with all seven players exceeding 30 points. That hasn't happened for a while !!
Front nine: Damien (18), from Stephen, Don & Greg (17)
Back nine: Brian (21) from Stephen (20), Peter (19) & Don (18)
Overall: Stephen (37) from Don (35), Damien (34)
On a very minor note, Don & Phil scraped in over Damien & Greg. Hardly worth mentioning.
Highlights:
Phil: Some outstanding holes, and sensational drives - after a long holiday.
Don: On the crucial par 3 sixteenth, shanked his tee shot into a pine tree, bounced back to the middle of the fairway, then hit a wedge stone dead for a win. Didn't apologise.
Greg: Birdied par 3 fifth.
