Sunday 28/12/14: Links Lady Bay
Superb weather for the traditional post-Xmas round at Links Lady Bay. Bronte organised a warm, sunny day (just <30 C) with a light breeze. Some outstanding scores on what is always a tough course.
Fifteen starters, including four ladies. Clearly, conditions for the first group were much tougher than for subsequent players - the total stableford points for the first group (Milde,Crathern P, Townsend, Whicker) equalled the total points for Gordge+Beggs.
An outstanding performance by Stephen Gordge - 45 points

Tuesday game to avoid Xmas eve. Same conditions as last week, with 24 C and a light breeze. Course in very good condition with moderately quick greens (for the South Course).
Nine starters, with reasonable scores generally.
Front nine: Pring, Methofer and Whicker (18), from Crathern P (17) and Gordge (16)
Back nine: Whicker (19) from Milde (17), Crathern P and Mensforth (16)
Overall: Whicker (37) from Crathern P & Methofer (33), Pring (32), Mensforth (31) & Gordge (30)

8 starters on a perfect day for golf - 24C & sunny with a light breeze. Only two scores above 30 points suggested conditions were more difficult than they appeared (rather than a LOFT issue).
Mr Gordge returned from his golf-winnings funded holiday to NZ and immediately started collecting for his next trip.

Wednesday Competition
10/12/14: Patawalonga
Occasional rain and humid which kept you cool to cold. A reasonable breeze which meant at least one
extra club into the wind.
Four players – Pring, Judge,
Methofer and Damo.
Front nine: Damien (13 points), the rest 12 points each.
Back nine: Don Boyle – an outstanding 27
points (one over par) which included two consecutive birdies (on 15 and 16) and 4 pars - from Methofer 19 points.
Overall: Boyle (39) from Methofer (31)
Teams: Boyle/Methofer "comprehensively arse-whipped" Pring/Mensforth.

Echunga Results
07/12/14: Echunga
Early start, as usual, with occasional light drizzle for the first nine holes. Fairways were lush and damp, greens slow, and the blue tees increased the degree of difficulty.
Fourteen starters, with the Cratherns (2), Wellman and Burrett in EET Singles match play.

Stableford Comp: Extremely well done to:

Played on Tuesday to avoid the forecast rain for Wednesday (which didn't arrive).
A lovely day for golf - 29C and sunny, with a faint cooling breeze for much of the round. Nine quality starters, reflected by the reasonable scores all round.
Front nine: Greg (19), from Bronte & Kevin (18), Brian & Don (17)
Back nine: Don (18), from Bob (17), Greg (16)
Overall: Don & Greg (35), from Phil & Bob (31) and Bronte (30)
Birdies:
Don on the par 5 seventh - almost an eagle
Greg on the par 4 eleventh
A special mention to Bob Batty with 31 points including 17 on the back nine. His best round so far, showing lots of promise.
