Wednesday Competition

08/04/15:  North Adelaide

An excellent day for golf, mild (20C) with a very light breeze.

Only four starters, with most of the EET talent sick, injured or away on holiday.  Scores varied from very ordinary to horrendous.  The 'Milde Doctrine' on 'gimmes', counting every shot and obeying the rules of golf, is clearly having an effect.

As expected, the team of Batty/Whicker proved far too strong for Boyle/Milde.

Front nine:   Batty (16) from Whicker (15)
Back nine:   Whicker (15)
Overall:        Whicker (30)

Four point holes:
Batty:    Par 3 fifth

Next week:   A few regulars will be ripping Barnbougle to shreds, so the numbers at Nth Adelaide will be down.   Mr Pring will confirm tee times with likely starters.

Good Friday, Wednesday Comp and EET Singles Final

01/04/15:  North Adelaide and  EET Singles Final

Nine starters on a beautiful day for golf as, once again, the forecast showers held off until after the game.  Despite the excellent conditions, the golf scores were very ordinary with not a single birdie or four point hole.  Even worse, Boyle won all the money !

The highlight was the final of the EET Singles Championship for 2014 between Ken Freestone and Craig Burrett.     Craig 'snuck away' early in the round, then held on for a meritorius victory.     He should henceforth be addressed as "Reigning EET Singles Champ", replacing Bronte, who held the title for as long as anyone can remember.  Craig has previously won other EET titles, including at least one Pinehurst competition throughout which (I am told) he was 'carried' by Mr Pring.

Front nine:     Boyle (18) from Milde & Burrett (17)
Back nine:     Boyle (17) from Burrett & Whicker (15)
Overall:          Boyle (35) from Burrett (32)

03/04/15:    Echunga - Good Friday

Fourteen starters on a lovely autumn day - cool initially, but sunny and mild thereafter.  Kerri, Jenny and Helen formed the ladies competition.
Scores were really ordinary, with lots of very talented golfers in the 26 to 29 point range.   The fairways were in good condition, but the greens proved pretty difficult all day.

Well done to:
Ross Townsend:       33 points
Dave Bartlett:            31
Jenny Wellman:         ladies comp winner

Birdies:
Ross & Greg:        Birdies on par 4 fourth

Four point holes:
Ken:          Par 4 twelfth
Don:          Par 4 first (hardest hole on course)
Noel:         Par 4 thirteenth
Jenny:       Par 5 fourteenth  - within a very respectable back nine
