Wednesday Competition

Wednesday 21/02/2018:      Mount Compass

Eight starters on an excellent day for golf, with the course in very good condition for mid-February.  A special welcome to Mal Freeman for his first game with EET.

The competition was ruined by "Seagull" Milde with a lazy 43 points, which included 24 on the back nine, three scrubs and consecutive birdies.

Front nine:    Crathern, Harding & Whicker (20), Milde (19), Cleland (17), Feeman & Pring (16)
Back nine:     Milde (24), Crathern & Batty (18), Freeman (16)
Overall:         Milde (43), Crathern (38), Harding & Whicker (34), Freeman (32)

Birdies:
Harding:    Par 5 second (that's 4 for 5, by the way)
Milde:       Par 4 eleventh (3 for 5) and par 3 twelfth
Cleland:    Par 5 second

Wednesday Competition

14/02/18:   Echunga

Seven starters on a perfect day for golf, with the course in good condition, although damp in places after heavy watering.  Good to see Phil Methofer back after an injury absence, though his knee is likely to require a replacement operation.

Good scores generally, although especially pleasing to see 42 points by Kevin Crathern (reducing his handicap for the Ambrose at Victor in a couple of weeks time).

Front nine:    Crathern (22) from Gordge (20), Whicker (18), Pring (17)
Back nine:     Crathern (20), Whicker (19), Batty & Methofer (17), Pring (16)
Overall:         Crathern (42), Whicker (37), Gordge (34), Pring (33)

Birdies:   Whicker (par 4 third)

Next Week:   Wednesday 21/02/18   Mount Compass at 10.15 am

Victor Harbor

04/02/2018:  Victor Harbor - Group 4 Competition

EET was well represented with 5 groups in the annual Group 4 competition at Victor Harbor. Unfortunately, not amongst the prizewinners, with only Kevin Crathern winning a bottle of wine in C Grade and Mr Beggs winning a raffle (has his luck changed ?).

Well done to:
Kev Sampson 37
Greg Whicker  34
Kev Crathern, Craig Burrett, Paul Crathern (32)
Ross Townsend & Paul Tattarelli (31)
Helen Cooper (30)

The "Ferals" are considering a name change to the "Lumberjacks" given the number of trees they hit.    One Feral, who shall remain nameless (but who is currently devoting more time to his family), brought tears to the eyes of those who witnessed his shots in the trees next to a water hazard on the 16th.
