31/05/17: North Adelaide
Seven starters on a perfect day for golf for the last day of Autumn (sunny, calm, 16C), featuring a welcome return from injury by Don Boyle. The course is in excellent condition, with the greens unusually quick. Lots of eclectic holes today.
Front nine: Whicker (18) from Boyle (17), Milde (15)
Back nine: Batty (20) from Boyle & Whicker (18), Milde & Harding (16), Crathern (15)
Overall: Whicker (36), Boyle (35), Batty & Milde (31)
Birdies:
Whicker: par 3 sixth, par 3 eleventh, par 4 thirteenth (apparently, a 70m chip-in is pure arse)
Eclectic Holes:
Harding: 8th (6), 17th (5), 18th (5)
Crathern: 7th (5)
Milde: 13th (4)
Batty: 2nd (6), 11th (4)
Boyle: 2nd (5), 14th (5)
Whicker: 11th (2)
Highlight:
Boyle, stymied behind the pine tree just short and left of the tenth green (with the flag back and extreme left), used the steep embankment on the RHS of the green to finish within 4 feet and sink the putt. Described as the "greatest up & down ever played in the history of golf". Wasn't bad.
Next week: North Adelaide - 10.19 & 10.25 am
